Toni&Guy Cleanse Shampoo for Advanced Detox Review

Toni&Guy Cleanse Shampoo for Advanced Detox
Claims: "leaves hair soft and manageable by deeply cleansing from the root of the hair to the ends and removing build-up and residue."
RRP: AUD15.99
Packaging: 5 out of 5
Review: I've been eyeing this shampoo for quite a while now and finally got my hands on it a couple of months back. I'll keep this reivew short and sweet; it's really straight forward: I love this shampoo. This truly is a clarifying shampoo. My hair feels weightless after use and it gives my hair volume at the roots, which lasts till Day 3 (that's when my roots are oily again). This product finally made me realise that my hair has been heavy and weighed down from product build-up. This shampoo comes in a transparent gel that lathers up nicely. It leaves my hair squeaky clean but does not strip my hair of moisture. Given that I only use this product once a fortnight, I expect it to last me quite a while.

I really like the packaging for this shampoo. It looks so luxe yet the product itself is very affordable. I find the little contraption that dispenses the product really neat.... Okay, I'll confess. I just really like playing with it. Snapping it open and shut (up and down). It's these little things that make me happy in life! If I didn't make my intentions clear earlier, I will say it now: I will be repurchasing this shampoo when it runs out!

Winner of Make the Switch Giveaway

Hey everyone, really sorry about the delay in announcing the winner for my giveaway. I attended an event last night and was kinda busy yesterday so I did have a chance to go through the list of entries until now.

I would like to thank everyone for participating in this giveaway and for reading and following my blog.

As usual, I've used the Random Number Generator on random.org to determine the winner.

And the winner is...

Congratulations Sheri!

If you didn't win this time, don't worry, I have more giveaways planned for the near future! Hope you're having or have had a wonderful day. Happy Mother's Day!

How did you celebrate Mother's Day? I bought my mum a plant and she absolutely adored it.

What Came in the Mail + Accessories Haul

I was really excited when I cracked open my parcel last Monday and found these goodies. If you've stuck around my blog long enough, you'd know that I'm a huge fan of Katy Perry. Really keen to try these babies out. Keep an eye out for my review. I've never tried self-adhesive lashes before so things are going to get interesting!

Here's another photo at a different angle and closer up. I love the cookies on sticks. They are so cute! Haven't got the heart to eat them.

Okay, so there's been quite a hype around Michael Todd skincare products, especially in the Youtube community. I really wanted to try them out but at the same time, I didn't want to put all my eggs in one basket. Ordering all the full-sized products would cost me at least $100. I caved and bought this travel set instead. And yes, a review is on the horizon.

So for the last couple of weeks, Lovisa had a 3 for 2 sale. I was looking for a pair of earrings to go with my dress, for a ball that I will be attending. I spotted all these other items and I couldn't resist. My earrings hunt turned into a massive accessories haul As you can see, I purchased a set of gold bangles, a couple of necklaces, a pair of crystal earrings (for my dress) and a set of studs (see below).

What really sold me on the studs were the two birds at the bottom. Below is a clearer photo of them.

I think they are absolutely beautiful and I only wished that I have blonde (instead of black) hair, so that the black feather tails would show up more when I wear them.

Farewell Madison

Okay, I know this news isn't recent but I thought that maybe there are others out there who are as unware as I was about this. Madison magazine has been axed! I didn't even realise until my mum told me. She said she heard it over the radio. I was in denial at first. No, not my favourite magazine!  I did a quick Google search and sure enough, it's true.

It's really sad 'cause I genuinely thought that Madison is a decent magazine. It's full of intelligent stories, helpful articles and useful information. I've been subscribed to the magazine for a year now and I was going to continue the subscription. Now I feel a little lost. I cannot think of another magazine that can measure up to Madison.

So, goodbye Madison. I sincerely hope that the amazing team behind the magazine who have lost their jobs find even better ones, 'cause they definitely deserve it.

What's your favourite magazine?

Moroccanoil Glimmer Shine Spray Review

Moroccanoil Glimmer Shine Spray
Claims: Protects the hair from UV rays and free radicals. Provides hair with an instant shine."
RRP: AUD35.95
Packaging: 4.5 out of 5
Review: To me, the brand Moroccanoil is synonymous with "hype". There was a lot of hype surrounding their Treatment hair oil a couple of years back. I remember lusting after it and after nearly a year, I finally got my hands on a 25mL bottle, thanks to my boyfriend, R. It lived up to its hype and I'm happy with it but it quite expensive.

I was lucky enough to receive the Glimmer Shine Spray to trial. I had high hopes for this product as well. I must say that it hasn't disappointed me at all. It's really easy to use; less messy than the Treatment hair oil, whereby one would have to work it through one's hair with one's hands. With this product, all you have to do is spritz it onto your hair and leave it be. You advised to not touch your hair for a few minutes, which I am fine with. It means my hands won't get oily and I don't have to rushed to the sink to wash them

This product contains Argan oil so you can expect the scent to come with it. It's neither pleasant nor unpleasant. What I do like about Argan oil is that it makes my hair soft and smooth. I also noticed that the product makes my hair shiny. So on days when I plan on using this product, I skip my Dove Therapy Oil, which is part of my haircare routine. Another big reason, I gravitate towards this product is that it protects the hair from UV damage. Although I cannot see the difference/results yet, I believe that it the long run, it will benefit my hair

I love that this product comes in a glass bottle. I hate oil products that come in plastic bottles. For some reason, plastic bottles just ooze out oil the moment you crack the seal and start using them. Sure, glass bottles are heavier compared to plastic bottles but really, they aren't heavy. The only reason I rate this product 4.5 for packaging is the look of the plastic cap and plastic + aluminum spray nozzle. They are both functional but in terms of aesthetics, it really let the product as a whole down. The glass bottle looks so luxurious but when my eyes landed on the plastic/aluminum top, they just went "ugh". The colour isn't the most attractive and I recently noticed a tiny dent on it (even though I have never dropped it or knocked it against anything)

In terms of pricing, one might think $35.95 is a lot of money to be paying for a hair product. Hey, I can name more expensive hair products than this one. In my opinion it is very reasonable, considering it is a 100mL bottle. I predict that this bottle will last me a very long time since only a couple of spritzes is sufficient each time. I think that since the Glimmer Shine Spray is such a multi-tasker, it's a good product to invest in. This is becoming a hair product staple for me so I'll be repurchasing when this bottle runs out!
